Who can ride

WOTA provides rides for those in Groveland, Highland, Holly, Rose, Waterford or White Lake Townships, Keego Harbor, Lake Angelus, Orchard Lake, Sylvan Lake, Village of Holly, or Walled Lake. Any adult 18 or older may ride WOTA. Senior adults, adults with disabilities, veteran or low income families are given priority. All riders must be registered including companions.

  1. We can get you anywhere in the service area.
  2. We do not limit the purpose of your trip - you can go to work, medical, the grocery, to vote, to a concert, or lunch. The possibilities are endless.
  3. Companion riders are allowed to ride on WOTA vehicles free of charge with their completed registration form prior to riding.
  4. We prioritize work and medical rides.
  5. WOTA drivers will assist passengers on and off the vehicles, as needed.
  6. Personal carts are welcome to help you bring groceries, laundry, etc. on the vehicle. Drivers can assist with grocery bags (one trip only)
  7. WOTA can only welcome trained service animals on the bus.
  8. We will call for a well check if we suspect something is amiss.
  9. WOTA Drivers will require you to wear a seat belt for your safety.
  10. WOTA provides reasonable modifications for individuals with disabilities by making changes to policies, practices, or procedures if needed for an individual with a disability to enable him/her to participate in our services. Please see our ADA policy.
  11. We treat everyone with respect and care.
  1. WOTA does not allow transportation for medical emergencies. Call 9-1-1.
  2. WOTA cannot transit riders home after a procedure that requires anesthetic.
  3. WOTA drivers are not permitted to handle or deliver any medications for the riders.
  4. No guns, knives or weapons of any kind will be permitted on our vehicles.
  5. No hazardous, explosive, or corrosive materials will be permitted on our vehicles.
  6. WOTA drivers cannot assist with items that have come in contact with bodily fluids like laundry.
  7. No smoking or use of electronic cigarettes is allowed on the WOTA vehicle.
  8. No open containers or consumption of food and drink is allowed on the bus other than water.
  9. Abusive behavior is never acceptable. WOTA reserves the right to protect riders and drivers and will call 9-1-1 and you may be removed from future service.
  10. All passengers should be reasonably sanitary and free of extreme or unpleasant odors.
  11. No alcohol or drugs can be used on the vehicles at any time. Any passenger visibly compromised may be escorted off the vehicle immediately.
